Forgiveness

In my opinion, forgiving others is one of the hardest things for us to do. We get hurt feelings and we feel that forgiveness is so very hard to do, and we may not even want to forgive them at all.
This is a very dangerous attitude to have, and in fact, God wants us to have a forgiving heart.
God wants us all to forgive others, just as Christ forgives us. God's love is so strong for us all, that He doesn't want us to hold grudges and not forgive others.
When we don't forgive, we are carrying hate with us, and it festers into every aspect of our lives. The hate we bear so much for others, destroys our own life if we hold onto it.
I John 3:15 says that if we hate our brother, we are in turn like a murderer! Hate and unforgiveness is a sn, and we must ask God for the grace to forgive someone, when we feel we can't.
If we expect God to forgive us, He expects us also to forgive. (Luke 6:37, Matt. 6:14, Ephesians 4:32)
We must realize how powerful forgiveness is. It releases us from Satan's lies, and allows us to move on and grow spiritually. It may even bring the person who hurt you to Christ, because love covers a multitude of sins. Colossians 3:13 says we MUST forgive just as Christ did, and God can help us do that.
God promises to repay all evil done to us, so we must forget about how people hurt us, and continue to walk in love, for our God will repay those who do you harm.
Mark 11:25-26 says if we do not forgive each other, God won't forgive us. I hope we all come to realize the importance of forgiveness. Without giving it, we won't receive it!
My prayer for all who read this is that they have a spirit of forgiveness in them, and they begin to release hurt and anger, and release forgiveness and love. I pray that all come to realize that God will look after us and will repay all evil done to us, as long as we trust Him to do it, and forgive the offense so it doesn't bring bad things into our life. I also pray that when anyone has a hard time forgiving, that they run to God and ask Him for the grace and the strength to forgive, and thank Him for always being there for us! I pray this in Jesus' Name, Amen!
