Ephesians 4:29-32

Verse 29 warns us from using corrupt words, that instead, we should be saying things that edify others, or build them up rather than upset them or bring them down.

We all have the power within our words to either uplift and heal, or to cast down and destroy. It is our duty as God's children to watch what comes out of our mouths. With loving words, we can give a way for God's grace to enter the lives of others, with just WORDS!

I believe that when we choose words that don't uplift others, we are grieving the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit was given to us as a guide, and as a promise of everlasting life.

The Holy Spirit urges us to uplift others, and gives us the right words to say to impart grace on those who need it. I cannot write these Bible studies without the Holy Spirit! If we say something that isn't uplifting, it will grieve the Holy Spirit, and I believe it is because there was a chance to do good, and instead, we chose the words to bring down rather than uplift.

Verses 31 and 32 urge us to put away all bitterness, wrath, anger, clamor, and EVIL SPEAKING. Let there be no malice in you, for God will repay all hurts done to you, therefore, do not have hatred in your heart, but rather, be kind to each other, tenderhearted, and forgiving towards each other, just as Christ forgives us!

Uplifting others is a gift given to me from God, and though I feel unworthy for such an honor, I am so thankful for my place in His Kingdom. Uplifting others sometimes feels like I am blessed more than those I bless, and I urge each of you that read this to think about your words, at all times, for you just never know when God might be using you to uplift somone else.
