"For He shall give His angels charge over you, to keep you in your ways.
In their hands they shall bear you up, lest you dash your foot against a stone."
What an amazing promise this is! God gives His angels charge over you, so that they can help us through life. Both in the things that we do, and keeping us safe from harm.
We should have our minds made up that we are protected by heavenly bodyguards, and this doesn't mean that we should try this promise by standing in front of a train, it means that we can bodly stand against evil without fear.
God tells us many times throughout the Bible, to not be afraid. He plans on protecting us, and we just need to trust Him, and continue to stand for Him.
Have you ever offered to give someone something that you really cared about, and didn't even know why you offered? Have you ever helped someone and didn't even know how you knew exactly what to do? I believe that these are moments that the angels have charge over us, and use us to perform God's will in someone's life that needs it.
An example of how God protects His people when they stand firm in their faith in Him, is in the story of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego in Daniel 3:8-29. The king was going to throw them in a fiery furnace for not worshipping the golden image that he made. When the three refused, the king ordered the furnace to be made seven times hotter than normal, and the three be thrown in it.
This did not scare the three men, they told the king that God would save them, and they said it with assurance. They told the king that even if God did not save them, they would not worship the image. I think it's important for us to note that they knew that it was God's will that would enfold, and that if God didn't deliver them, it was for a reason, and they gladly gave their lives to God.
God not only did save them, but He was in the furnace with them, and just as Psalm 91:11-12 promises, God made sure the three were not even singed.
Their faith is what saved them, and it is what saves us as well! Not only were they saved, but the king believed in God and was changed through their faith as well!
Satan wants us to be afraid, and he knows very well that God will protect His children, and he tried to make Jesus question that as well in Matthew 4:5-7, but Jesus did not question or test the angels, because He knew what God promises and believed it, so He quoted scripture to rebuke Satan. Even Satan knows how important it is for us to not fear him, because he tries to make us afraid of all kinds of things, even though the angels are there to help us!
When we are walking in agreeance with God's word, believing it and holding to our beliefs no matter what others say, we are allowing God to work in our lives, and we are allowing His angels to have charge over us, to do good things for others, and also that blessings can come into our lives.
My prayer for all who read this is that they will no longer fear doing what God wants them to do. To stand fearlessly before evil, because we know beyond doubt, that our God loves us and will protect and guide us to do what is right. In Jesus' Name, Amen!
